Norwegian authorities have introduced temporary suspension of the return of unaccompanied asylum children to other European countries. Norwegian practice has since 2008 been sending unaccompanied asylum seeking children back to the European country where they applied for asylum and was first registered on arrival in Europe. But after the European Court of Justice in June-defined practices illegal, Norway has temporarily stopped sending children back to the first European country they came from,( Norwegian Broadcast) NRK reported. Justice Ministry stated that the government will see an impact of practice change. Meanwhile celebrate Save the Children.
This is a very important step in the right direction for the kids involved. It will lead to kids who need it,that they get a really good and thorough consideration of their case in Norway. We are very happy and it is absolutely right of Norway to do so, says Janne Raanes, head of Norway program for Save the Children. Asylum Lawyer Arild Humlen means that the return stop only  could be short-lived. He urged politicians to establish clearer guidelines to ensure the rights of children in immigration law. Figures from the Norwegian Directorate of Immigration (UDI) shows that one in ten unaccompanied minor asylum seekers coming to Norway without parents, also registered in other countries in Europe.
